Review & content policy
Who can review, what's allowed, how moderation and disputes work, and our commitments under the FTC rule on fake reviews.
Last updated October 12, 2026.
Draft — have a lawyer review before launch. This text is a working draft and is not yet the binding version.
Reviews on LevelRated and AVCleared exist to tell the next buyer how a job actually went. This policy explains what we publish and how we decide.
Who can review
Only users at a company with a verified engagement: completed on the Platform by both sides, or matched to a PO or invoice. One review per engagement, editable for 90 days. Reviews from outside the Platform are labeled "Verified by invoice" only after an invoice is matched.
What reviews must be
- First-hand, about the specific engagement.
- Truthful and fair. Describe facts, not people.
- Free of conflicts. Don't review a company you own, work for, compete with, or are related to.
- Not bought. No one may offer or accept anything of value for a review conditioned on whether it's positive or negative.
What we remove or redact
| Content | Action |
|---|---|
| Threats, harassment, hate speech, sexual content | Remove |
| Personal data (home addresses, personal phone numbers, health information) | Redact |
| Confidential business information or trade secrets | Redact |
| Content unrelated to the engagement | Remove |
| Reviews we can't link to a verified engagement | Remove |
| Reviews from linked parties (shared owners, emails, IPs, payment methods) | Block or remove |
Negative opinions that follow this policy stay published.
Our commitments under the FTC rule
Consistent with the FTC's rule on consumer reviews and testimonials (16 CFR Part 465), we do not create or publish fake reviews, we do not suppress or remove reviews because they're negative, we do not let payment influence which reviews are shown or how they're ranked, and moderation decisions follow this published policy applied the same way to everyone.
Moderation
Automated checks screen every review for profanity, personal data, threats, velocity and copied text. Flagged reviews go to a human moderator before publication.
Contractor responses and disputes
Contractors may post one public response per review, message the reviewer privately and dispute a review for one of four reasons: not our job, factual error, harassment, or conflict of interest, with evidence.
Disputed reviews stay visible with an "Under review" label unless they clearly break this policy. A moderator reviews both sides and decides within 10 business days. Outcomes: keep, edit (redaction only, never rewording), or remove. Both parties are told the decision and the reason.
Other content
Profile text, portfolio photos, messages and Q&A must also follow this policy. Don't upload content you don't have rights to.
Reporting
Use "Report a concern" on any profile or review, or the contact form.
