Ratings affect livelihoods. These are the rules we hold ourselves to, and you can hold us to them.
Payment never changes a rating
No paid product changes a Trust Score, search ranking, review visibility or badge. Paid services (Expedited Review, on-site audits, Compliance Concierge) change only how fast something happens and who does the work.
Sponsored placements, if we ever offer them, will sit in a row clearly labeled "Sponsored" and never be mixed into ranked results.
One published method, applied to everyone
The checks, data sources, pass rules, re-check cadence, score weights and grade bands are published on the Verification Standards page, which is generated from the same configuration the engine uses.
Every change to weights or bands is versioned. Before a change goes live we simulate how many contractors' grades would move, and every stored score records the version used.
Every fact traces to evidence and a date
A verified fact shows where it came from and when, for example "Verified with Michigan LARA on Oct 2, 2026". Status changes write an append-only audit record: who, when, old value, new value and the evidence file's hash.
We verify documents and public records as of a date. We don't guarantee the quality of anyone's work, and hiring decisions remain the company's.
Contractors can see and dispute every input
Contractors see the same score explanation companies see, plus what would improve it. Any input can be reported as a data error and is reviewed by an analyst.
Reviews can be answered publicly and disputed. Disputed reviews stay visible with an "Under review" label unless they break the content policy, and a moderator decides within 10 business days.
Reviews come from real, verified work
Only companies with a verified engagement can review. We block reviews from companies linked to the contractor by owners, emails, IP addresses or payment methods, and we screen for velocity and copied text.
We comply with the FTC rule on fake reviews and testimonials: no purchased, incentivized-for-sentiment or fabricated reviews, and no suppression of negative reviews.
Data is handled like it matters
EINs and other sensitive fields are encrypted at the field level and masked to the last four digits. Files are encrypted at rest, virus-scanned and checked for tampering. Download links expire in five minutes and every access is logged and shown to the contractor.
Platform staff use multi-factor authentication. When staff view an account as a user to help them, a red banner is shown and every action is logged.
